From the Depths to the Heights: Exploring Differences between Soul and Spirit
with Hallie Durchslag
Wednesday May 19th
7:00-8:30pm on Zoom
James Hillman wrote: “…our idea of human nature devolved from a tripartite cosmos of spirit, soul, and body (or matter), to a dualism of spirit (or mind) and body (or matter).” The notion of soul was left behind, but remains essential from a Jungian perspective. Using the Jungian lens as our guide, join us for a conversation about differences in ideas about spirit and soul, and how these notions might shape our own sense of connection to the numinous. Discussion will be grounded in an essay by James Hillman (the founder of archetypal psychology), Peaks and Vales.
Hallie Beth Durchslag, Ph.D., LISW-S, lives in Cleveland Heights, OH, where she teaches, writes, and maintains a private practice as a Jungian-based psychodynamic psychotherapist.
