Dr. Melanie Higgins, Ph.D., was born and educated in Cleveland, Ohio. Her doctoral dissertation involved researching the psychological after-effects of incest in women who were sexually abused as children.  She received her post-graduate diploma from The Gestalt Institute of Cleveland with a specialization in working with families and couples. In 1988 a teaching position in psychology at the University of Maryland, European Division brought her to Germany.  She taught there and then devoted herself to private clinical practice in Heidelberg and Frankfurt, Germany with adult individuals and couples for twenty seven years. She received her diploma from the C.G. Jung Institute in Zurich, Switzerland, in 2004.  She has lectured and has given workshops on “Forgiveness and Individuation” in the United States, Canada, the U.K and at the Jung Institute in Switzerland.
